Features of a Glass Wall System
The glass wall systems have the following standard features –
- The glass used is usually 10mm in thickness and is toughened for strength. It can be laminated or glazed if required. Thicker glass can also be used if requested by the customer.
- There is also the possibility of using architectural screen in various textures and designs and in finishes like mirror backed, colored, sandblasted, flat, opaque, translucent within the glass walls.
- There is an 18 mm “anti-finger trap” gap between the glass panels adjacent to the sliding door and the door itself. This ensures safety for the users as fingers do not come in the way of the opening of the door.
- The various parts and components of the framing system are made of high quality stainless steel of 20 – 25 mm diameter for long rust free warp resistant use. The standard fittings are made in brushed stainless steel finish but it is possible to get finishes like mirror, polished, etc. In fact the Eclipse range of unistrut channels, adjustable jockey wheels, roller assemblies, Solare head channels, etc used to erect the glass walls are probably some of the best available in the market for this purpose.
- The glass doors come either in full height or with varying width over panels. The glass is also 10 or 12 mm as the rest of the glass panels and come in double as well as single leaf actions.
- The door is installable in two options – independent of the adjoining panels or fastened o them. In the first case, they are mounted on hangers that get support from the ceiling and in the second case, single point glazing fixtures secure them to adjacent panel.
