High Spec Laptop Computers Now Mass Market
Until recently, gaming laptops were normally custom made by select manufacturers. The sales figures were in no terms really good but they did give increased mark up’s on each laptop than others. I am pretty certain everyone would have loved to have had one however couldn’t actually justify it. They were just the best laptops that the technology could offer at that time. I would get really excited by them however I knew I couldn’t go out and buy laptops at the high prices they were going for. I believe things are already different though and will continue to because the global manufacturers are all moving into the market.
Just think about how much profit these big brands could be producing especially when utilizing mass production. As the profit potential on standard laptops have become so tiny, making specialized laptops for gaming is one way to regain a bigger gross margin. They can also use their enormous marketing budgets to induce customers further into spending their savings or bringing out the charge cards to buy laptops like these ones. Do the little companies even have a chance with this sort of competition? Clearly what I see taking place here is that the bigger manufacturers dropping prices initially to remove the competition from smaller companies. I think the clueless automatically feel safe by buying from a brand they are aware of. Astonishingly, the notebooks they are creating are some of the best laptops to date. I predict that small system builders could still have a chance. The configurability service is a major bonus to the customer. Buyers of this sort are normally really knowledgeable with regards to the technology involved, and so can make like for like comparisons. More often than not the specifications matter when compared to the design for these kinds of people.
This will be quite advantageous from the customers standpoint. Finally top of the line technology for your investment will be the result of this saturation. I guess even industry analysts would have a tough time predicting where the market is going. The best laptops are usually going to be expensive if I’m telling the truth. The bigger manufacturers have already started their own gaming laptop range, so all we can do now is sit back and watch.
